Incident Management is the cooperation in case of traffic incidents between road authorities, police, fire brigades, ambulance services and salvage, recovery and insurance companies. The aim is to remove vehicles in traffic incidents as soon as possible from the road. Studies show that incident management in the Netherlands saves handling time: 15 minutes for accidents with private cars and 60 till 90 minutes for accidents with lorries. Annually this will save 150 million euros against a 10% investment. The goal of incident management for 2008 - 2015 is to reduce incident clearance by 25%
