Abstract:
Growing traffic problems, such as longer and more extensive queues and delays, are increasingly the focus of political and public attention, and often feature in the media. Focus is no longer on environmental aspects and traffic safety alone, but increasingly also on the quality of traffic flow and on congestion. The project aims to answer the following questions: What are the derivative effects of congestion? What are the total and marginal costs associated with congestion? How can congestion be continuously monitored?
